Woodland Hills is a wealthy neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles, located in the western part of the San Fernando Valley. The climate of Woodland Hills is very warm in the summer months and cool in the winter months. In July of 2006, the highest temperature ever recorded in Los Angeles county occurred in Woodland Hills, measuring in at 119 degrees farenheit. 


 


Woodland Hills is one of the least densely populated areas of the city of Los Angeles. The percentage of Caucasians is also quite high in comparison with the rest of the county. The population of just over 59,000 has a median household income of around $93,000, which, according to the LA Times, is high for the city and county of Los Angeles. Around 10% of the population are veterans, and the percentage of veterans who have served in the Korean war or World War II is one of the highest in the country. 


 


Los Angeles Pierce College, a two-year community college, is located in the neighborhood. Los Angeles Public Libraries can be found on Ventura Blvd and Victory Blvd in Woodland Hills. There are 8 private schools, along with 12 public schools, and 4 charter schools.
