Get a FREE Consultation!

Our ACT Tutoring program in Studio City is by far the most specialized in Southern California and possibly even in the country. Our program is so different because of how and why the ACT Tutoring Program was written to begin with. What many people don’t realize is that every large ACT Tutoring company hires writers to put their large programs together. But are these writers in touch with the students' needs by working as ACT tutors in the past? Often times not! Believe it or not, many ACT Tutors in Studio City use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written with the typical student in mind. These companies invest heavily in the look and feel of their course, while often times neglect investing critical attention to the minute, individualized details which our company focuses on. Unfortunately, more often than not, a student needs exactly that.

That is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful the last few years. The ACT Tutoring program was put together over a long period of time, and is based in part on actual ACT questions. Unlike every other ACT Tutor in Studio City who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and strove for perfection.  The fruit of our labor has finally shown through in our specialized and unique approach to the ACT!

The writers of our ACT Tutoring program are the two young, dynamic, and ambitious owners of Tier One Tutors, Steve Dorfman and Brian Mupo. Both of them have spent untold amounts of hours writing and developing this system.  Their unique SAT and ACT programs are the backbone of Tier One Tutors which serves all of Southern California, including Studio City.

Studio City

Overview

Studio City is a high-income low-density residential neighborhood in Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley, which is known for the number of celebrities that frequent the area or make it their residence. Its name is taken from the CBS Studio Center and the many film productions that happen in the area.

Location

Studio City lies within the San Fernando Valley, and it is flanked on the north by Valley Village, to the west along Ventura Boulevard by Sherman Oaks, to the east by Toluca Lake and Universal City, and to the south by Hollywood Hills West.

History

The land Studio City occupies was once part of Rancho San Fernando. It was eventually owned J. B. Lankershim and eight other developers who organized the Lankershim Ranch. The area stopped being viable for farming in 1899 until the construction Los Angeles aqueduct in 1908 revitalized its real estate value. The existing area of Studio City was plotted from portions of the town of Lankershim (which would later become North Hollywood) and the town of Laurelwood.

In 1927, Mark Sennet built the CBS Studio Center on the property and the area around the studio was named Studio City.

Demographics

It has a high income average for its residents but low population density for Los Angeles. It has 37,201 people by 2008 estimate, and a median age of 38.

The neighborhood is not considered particularly diverse, with its population breakdown being  Whites, 78%; Latinos, 8.7%; Asians, 5.4%; blacks, 3.7%; and others, 4.1%. It has a high number of military veterans in residence,

Facts and Attractions

Apart from the CBS Studio Center, Studio City also contains several lots that served as the setting for movies and popular TV shows. The Big Brother house and the exterior of the original Brady Bunch house can be found here.

It has several parks, the largest among them being Studio City Recreation Center, which is also known as Beeman Park. Fryman Canyon Park in the south provides hiking and cliffside views over Mulholland Drive.

Within its borders are six private and five public schools, most notably Harvard-Westlake.
