Our SAT Tutoring program in Pacific Palisades is hands down the most unique, comprehensive and personalized in Southern California and possibly in the country. One of the biggest reasons why our program is so different has to do with how and why the SAT Tutoring Program was written in the first place. What most parents don’t realize is that every large SAT Tutoring company hires writers to put their programs together. Are these writers even tutors? Are they qualified? Are they in touch with the students' needs? Not necessarily! Believe it or not, many SAT Tutors in Pacific Palisades use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written from the perspective of an average student. They are just made to look attractive and cover details in the SAT test. Unfortunately that will not get the job done.
This is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful thus far. The SAT Tutoring program was put together over the period of a full year AFTER official practice tests for the new SAT were disseminated to the public. Unlike every other SAT Tutor in Pacific Palisades who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and took the path of idealism. This has finally paid off in our unbelievable and unique approach to the SAT!
The writers of our SAT Tutoring program are the two young, ambitious and dynamic owners of Tier One Tutors, Brian Mupo and Steven Dorfman. The two of them spent countless hours over the course of a full year writing and developing their new program. The reason they felt so confident that they could create something unique and different is because they went through the struggle on the SAT themselves before they mastered it. Both went through SAT Tutoring courses and spent a myriad of hours preparing on their own while in high school. After a long hard struggle both achieved their ideal scores. Upon entering college, they independently recognized that helping others to accomplish what they did was of the utmost importance. Hence, Tier One Tutors was born serving all of Southern California, including Pacific Palisades.

When you are searching for wealthy and stunningly beautiful cities, Los Angeles is definitely the place to start. The Pacific Palisades are of the most prominent and affluent neighborhoods in all of Los Angeles, California. The Santa Monica Mountains are located on the north side of this neighborhood, which allows for a great location. There are more than 26,000 residents living in this area and it has a variety of homes. Condos, apartments, older homes and mansions make up the entire Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
The History and Background
This region was first used as land for film Director Thomas Ince’s many western films from the beginning of 1911 and for a few years after. However, in 1922 the land was purchased by a reverend named Charles H. Scott. Scott founded the Pacific Palisades with visions of community that was established on Methodist principles. Many religious individuals quickly began to relocate to this neighborhood and by 1925 there were more than 100 homes in this region. Many of the street were originally named after prominent Methodists at this time period. At first tents lines the Pacific Palisades, but over the years these transformed to cabins and now this area is home to many million dollar residences.
Nazi Germany and the Palisades
This region became a sort of refuge for many Germans and Australians that were exiled from Nazi Germany during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Many of those exiled were known as artists and intellectuals and some of the more well-known individuals included Vicki Baum, Emil Ludwig and Thomas Mann. This region also had a ban on alcohol for many years and there was only one restaurant in the entire region that even had a liquor license.
Popular Activities
The Pacific Palisades is known for beauty, affluence and wealth, but it is also a place of celebration during the 4th of July each year. The neighborhood always has many activities that are designed to celebrate and many of the most popular events include marathons, and a parade that takes place on Sunset Boulevard. It is even possible to view the spectacular fireworks display that is set off at the Palisades football field.
