Lakewood ACT Tutoring

Get a FREE Consultation!

Our ACT Tutoring program in Lakewood is by far the most specialized in Southern California and possibly even in the country. Our program is so different because of how and why the ACT Tutoring Program was written to begin with. What many people don’t realize is that every large ACT Tutoring company hires writers to put their large programs together. But are these writers in touch with the students' needs by working as ACT tutors in the past? Often times not! Believe it or not, many ACT Tutors in Lakewood use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written with the typical student in mind. These companies invest heavily in the look and feel of their course, while often times neglect investing critical attention to the minute, individualized details which our company focuses on. Unfortunately, more often than not, a student needs exactly that.

That is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful the last few years. The ACT Tutoring program was put together over a long period of time, and is based in part on actual ACT questions. Unlike every other ACT Tutor in Lakewood who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and strove for perfection.  The fruit of our labor has finally shown through in our specialized and unique approach to the ACT!

The writers of our ACT Tutoring program are the two young, dynamic, and ambitious owners of Tier One Tutors, Steve Dorfman and Brian Mupo. Both of them have spent untold amounts of hours writing and developing this system.  Their unique SAT and ACT programs are the backbone of Tier One Tutors which serves all of Southern California, including Lakewood.

A look at the city of Lakewood

The City of Lakewood is found in Los Angeles County, California in the US. It has a population of about 80,080 people according to the 2010 housing and population census, with a density of about 8,450 people every square mile. The total area of the city is 24.517 km sq. with most of this area on land. It is a place of mixed races with 56% white, 40 % non –Hispanic white and 8% African Americans. Other races including Asians, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese and Vietnamese are also found in the city , although the collectively add up to less than 4%. The city borders Long Beach South. To the North, it borders Bellflower and Paramount, to the East Cerritos and Cypress.

The history of Lakewood dates back to World War II when two developers, Mark Teper and Louis Boyar, finalized the re-designing and transformation of the irregularly built houses for the earlier phases of the town. They came up with the foundation for the current modern design. It was later incorporated on April 16th, 1954. The current city is a combination of traditional urban grid and contemporary exurban and suburban design. It has now come up as a commercial, sports and entertainment city with many outdoor activities. In 2005, the city was referred to as Sports Illustrated. It has its central business district in the heart of the town surrounded by residential districts.

The City of Lakewood currently contracts most of its municipal services, although it’s already incorporated. It is famous for being home to the first Denny’s restaurant, which was founded by Harold Butler in 1953. The restaurant was initially known as Danny’s restaurant but was renamed in later in 1959.

Lakewood is served by four main district schools which play a key role in the city’s education. Its fire operations are handled by the Los Angeles Fire Department which also runs an ambulance service for quick medical care. Its security is monitored under the county Sheriff’s department. The city also operates a patrol police helicopter which is totally independent of the Sheriff, Aero bureau department.

The town organization of the City of Lakewood starts with a city mayor, who is elected from a council with several members. There is a council which makes most of the important town decisions. There is also a council manager and attorney for the city. The council also establishes an environment commission, a community service creation and community safety commission.
