Our ACT Tutoring program in Carson is by far the most specialized in Southern California and possibly even in the country. Our program is so different because of how and why the ACT Tutoring Program was written to begin with. What many people don’t realize is that every large ACT Tutoring company hires writers to put their large programs together. But are these writers in touch with the students' needs by working as ACT tutors in the past? Often times not! Believe it or not, many ACT Tutors in Carson use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written with the typical student in mind. These companies invest heavily in the look and feel of their course, while often times neglect investing critical attention to the minute, individualized details which our company focuses on. Unfortunately, more often than not, a student needs exactly that.
That is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful the last few years. The ACT Tutoring program was put together over a long period of time, and is based in part on actual ACT questions. Unlike every other ACT Tutor in Carson who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and strove for perfection. The fruit of our labor has finally shown through in our specialized and unique approach to the ACT!
The writers of our ACT Tutoring program are the two young, dynamic, and ambitious owners of Tier One Tutors, Steve Dorfman and Brian Mupo. Both of them have spent untold amounts of hours writing and developing this system. Their unique SAT and ACT programs are the backbone of Tier One Tutors which serves all of Southern California, including Carson.

Carson: LA’s Youngest Bedroom Community
Carson, California became incorporated into the LA metropolitan area in the late 1960s. By far, it is the youngest bedroom community associated with the city. It is only around 18 miles away from LAX, and only a short drive from the downtown LA area. Since that time, the great suburb of Carson has grown by leaps and bounds in population, businesses, and local attractions, as well as renown. Here, we will examine the climate, demographics, as well as local must-see attractions in the Carson area.
How’s the Weather?
Looking for a taste of the Mediterranean climate in the United States? If so, look no further than Carson in the summertime. Carson has a climate that is just a bit less hot than that of the LA basin, but also experiences a bit less rainfall per year. Even so, the whole year round is fairly mild in temperature. During the summer time, there is often a hazy look to the air in the morning that dissipates throughout the day. This is typical of the climate, and has nothing to do environmental conditions there. Carson is only around 6 to 8 miles from the mighty Pacific.
Great Places to See
California State University, Dominguez Hills is one of the most racially and ethnically diverse institutions of post-secondary education in the US. Nearby, you will also fine the Home Depot Center, which hosts the soccer games of the Los Angeles Galaxy. The JP Morgan Chase annual tennis tournament is also held there. Tennis courts, tracks and field facilities, as well as the soccer team are housed in this complex. Recently, boxing matches have also been hosted there. Carson Mall is a great place in town to shop. Or, you can see where the Goodyear Blimp lands in Carson.
Current Population
The population of Carson is quite diverse. The three largest races in the area are Latino, African American, and Caucasian. Most of the households in this area are composed of opposite-sex married couples living together. The majority of the population was between 25 and 44 years old. 37.6 was found to be the average age of most residents of the area. Unsurprisingly, like most of the cities in this same area in California, there are more females living in the city than there are males. Around three-quarters of the residents own their homes, as opposed to just renting.
