Our ACT Tutoring program in Beverly Hills is by far the most specialized in Southern California and possibly even in the country. Our program is so different because of how and why the ACT Tutoring Program was written to begin with. What many people don’t realize is that every large ACT Tutoring company hires writers to put their large programs together. But are these writers in touch with the students' needs by working as ACT tutors in the past? Often times not! Believe it or not, many ACT Tutors in Beverly Hills use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written with the typical student in mind. These companies invest heavily in the look and feel of their course, while often times neglect investing critical attention to the minute, individualized details which our company focuses on. Unfortunately, more often than not, a student needs exactly that.
That is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful the last few years. The ACT Tutoring program was put together over a long period of time, and is based in part on actual ACT questions. Unlike every other ACT Tutor in Beverly Hills who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and strove for perfection. The fruit of our labor has finally shown through in our specialized and unique approach to the ACT!
The writers of our ACT Tutoring program are the two young, dynamic, and ambitious owners of Tier One Tutors, Steve Dorfman and Brian Mupo. Both of them have spent untold amounts of hours writing and developing this system. Their unique SAT and ACT programs are the backbone of Tier One Tutors which serves all of Southern California, including Beverly Hills.

The City of Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills, California is perhaps one of the most famous cities in Los Angeles County. Known as “90210,” the city is home to many celebrities and includes the famous Rodeo Drive shopping district. Approximately 34,000 people call Beverly Hills home and the average family income sits somewhere around $100,000 per year. Notable residents include Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Richard Nixon, Ray Charles, Vera Wang and Jennifer Aniston.
Beverly Hills History
Maria Rita Quinteros de Valdez was the original settler of Beverly Hills in 1828. The 4,500 acre property was known as Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas. After being regularly hassled by Native Americans and being assaulted in 1852, the ranch was sold to Benjamin Davis Wilson and Henry Hancock. The ranch would eventually go on to be subdivided into 75 acre parcels of land. Most of the land was acquired by Henry Hammel and Andrew H. Denker who used the land to grow lima beans.
The lima bean ranch would eventually be purchased by a group of oil investors who started searching for oil on the land. Instead, the group found water and decided to build up a community in the area. They named the community “Beverly Hills” after the famous Beverly Farms in Beverly, Massachusetts. At the time, the community barred non-whites from renting or owning property. Jews were also unable to rent or purchase property in the area.
Geography and Climate
Beverly Hills has a Mediterranean climate with the average temperature sitting at 85 degrees Farenheit in the peak of summer. The average temperature in winter is a mild 67 degrees. The city receives approximately 18 inches of rain each year.
Beverly Hills is surrounded by the city of Los Angeles. To the northwest, sits the affluent Bel-Air neighborhood and to the east sits West Hollywood.
Things to Do
One of Beverly Hills’ most famous attractions is the Rodeo Drive shopping district, which features shops from high end designers in the fashion industry. While shopping in the district, visitors can also take a trolley tour of the area.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences can also be found in the city where visitors can catch a flick. The Beverly Hills Garden Park and Greystone Mansion are also popular sites in town. The local farmer’s market is a weekly event in which visitors can purchase some of the finest seasonal fruits and vegetables grown in California.
