Our ACT Tutoring program in Baldwin Park is by far the most specialized in Southern California and possibly even in the country. Our program is so different because of how and why the ACT Tutoring Program was written to begin with. What many people don’t realize is that every large ACT Tutoring company hires writers to put their large programs together. But are these writers in touch with the students' needs by working as ACT tutors in the past? Often times not! Believe it or not, many ACT Tutors in Baldwin Park use courses that are put together by the larger companies and are not written with the typical student in mind. These companies invest heavily in the look and feel of their course, while often times neglect investing critical attention to the minute, individualized details which our company focuses on. Unfortunately, more often than not, a student needs exactly that.

That is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful the last few years. The ACT Tutoring program was put together over a long period of time, and is based in part on actual ACT questions. Unlike every other ACT Tutor in Baldwin Park who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and strove for perfection.  The fruit of our labor has finally shown through in our specialized and unique approach to the ACT!

The writers of our ACT Tutoring program are the two young, dynamic, and ambitious owners of Tier One Tutors, Steve Dorfman and Brian Mupo. Both of them have spent untold amounts of hours writing and developing this system.  Their unique SAT and ACT programs are the backbone of Tier One Tutors which serves all of Southern California, including Baldwin Park.

Baldwin Park, California

It’s hard to look at the city of Baldwin Park today and believe that it used to be nothing more than land set aside for grazing cattle. Back in 1860, the community was known as Vineland, with the name of Baldwin Park not being used until 1906. The name came from a resident names Elias J. Baldwin, who was more commonly known by the nickname “Lucky.” The 75,000 plus folks that live in the city today would certain count themselves as lucky, as this truly is a great place to live when choosing a spot in California.

Baldwin Park, which would become the 47th city incorporated in the State of California, really started to come to prominence when the first school was built in 1882. That first school was used for education purposes through to 1890, when the building was sold and used as a private residence from that point forward. By that time, the Vineland School District has already been established, ensuring that education would remain a focal point of the city. As of now, the Baldwin Park Unified School District, as it is now known, has 23 schools in its network, as well as an annual budget in excess of $100 million.

There is more to Baldwin Park than just a great school system, though, and it actually holds a coveted spot in the history of fast food. The city had the distinction of being the home of the very first In-N-Out burger stand, which was opened in 1948. It also held the distinction of being the first drive-thru in California, which is a pretty big score for a relatively small town. That original location was used until 2004 when a new In-N-Out burger building was erected.

Another popular spot around that time was the Vias Turkey Ranch, which was a commercial property that held a large selection of birds. Deer were also kept on the ranch, but like many areas in California after World War II, the value of the land brought in developers who basically forced out operations like the turkey ranch so that they could build new properties on that spot. Another spot that befell the same fate was the McMullan Dairy, which was always a popular spot for kids from all over the state to come and visit.

Nowadays, Baldwin Park is a thriving community of more than 75,000 residents, with the city working very hard to make sure that they have a great place to live. There are no less than six different parks dotted around the city, as well as a ton of recreation spots for kids, families, and seniors. The city that is known as “The Hub of the San Gabriel Valley” is not only located in a beautiful part of the state, it also has the benefit of being one of the most temperate spots, too. The weather is great year round, which may also help explain why all of the residents always seem so happy.
