Glendale, CA
Glendale is located in Los Angeles County in California and is the 22nd largest city in the state. The city was incorporated on February 15, 1906 and the current mayor as of 2013 is Dave Weaver. Glendale covers a total of 30.583 square miles and has a population of 191,719 as of 2010. Like many cities in California, Glendale has several known earthquake faults that cross through the city.
The type of climate in the city is Mediterranean, which usually means mild winters and very warm summers. The highest recorded temperature in the city was 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and the lowest recorded temperature was 17 degrees Fahrenheit. There is rarely snowfall in Glendale, but about every five to 10 years, it does snow, but the snow does not accumulate very much.
The city is a favorite among shoppers because of the many stores. The Glendale Galleria is a three-story shopping mall and is the second largest mall in the county. The mall includes several department stores including Target, Bloomingdales, Macy's, JCPenny, and Nordstrom.
There are several methods of transportation in the city, including city buses such as LADOT, Metro Rapid, Metro Local, and Glendale Beeline. There are also Greyhound buses available as well.
