Our SAT Prep program in Agoura Hills is hands down the most unique, comprehensive and personalized in Southern California and possibly in the country. One of the biggest reasons why our program is so different has to do with how and why The SAT Prep Program was written in the first place. What most parents don’t realize is that every large SAT Prep company hires writers to put their programs together. Are these writers even tutors? Are they qualified? Are they in touch with the students' needs? Not necessarily! Believe it or not many SAT Prep programs in Agoura Hills that are put together by the larger companies are not written from the perspective of an average student, they are just made to look attractive and cover details in the SAT test. Unfortunately that will not get the job done.
This is why Tier One Tutors was created, and is also why we've been so successful thus far. The SAT Prep program was put together over the period of a full year AFTER official practice tests for the new SAT were disseminated to the public. Unlike every other company in Agoura Hills who wrote programs before they even knew what exactly was going to be on the new test, we pushed the money aside and took the path of idealism. This has finally paid off in our unbelievable and unique approach to the SAT!
The writers of the SAT Preparation program are the two young, ambitious and dynamic owners of Tier One Tutors, Brian Mupo and Steven Dorfman. The two of them spent countless hours over the course of a full year writing and developing their new program. The reason they felt so confident that they could create something unique and different is because they went through the struggle on the SAT themselves before they mastered it. Both went through SAT preparation courses and spent a myriad of hours preparing on their own while in high school. After a long hard struggle both achieved their ideal scores. Upon entering college, they independently recognized that helping others to accomplish what they did was of the utmost importance. Hence, Tier One Tutors was born serving all of Southern California, including Agoura Hills.

Agoura Hills
Overview
Agoura Hills is an affluent city deep in Los Angeles County. Agoura Hills is divided, if unofficially, into various districts. Forest Cove, East Agoura, Downtown, Malibu Junction, and Old Agoura are just some of the most popular districts of the city. For quite a long time, the chaparral-and-woodlands haven has been deemed as the only gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Its name is derived from a misspelling of the last name of Pierre Agoure, a French immigrant who settled in the area in 1871 to live the life of a Mexican rancher.
Location
The city sits between the Santa Monica Mountains and Simi Hills in the East Conejo Valley. Agoura Hills lies between Ventura County towards the North and borders Los Angeles county to South, East, and West. Both the unchartered Agoura and Agoura Hills are located adjacent to the famous Westlake Village, Calabasas, Oak Park and tourist magnet Malibu.
History
The first settlers of the Hills were the Chumash Indians. When Spanish missionaries first came to the settlement, they made use of the El Camino Royal or the King’s Highway as their avenue from Baja, California to Mexico. One of the many stops along the Highway is the present Agoura Hills. Up to the 1900s, it was a resting stop for travelers along the Camino Real.
In the 1920s, Paramount Pictures owned a ranch in the area that was used for filming many Westerns, and the community boomed as a result, temporarily becoming known as "Picture City". It grew rapidly in the 1960s after the Ventura Freeway was built to run straight across the city.
Demographics
With a land area of 7.86 square miles, Agoura Hills is home to a population of just about 20,330. Most of the population is made up of non-Hispanic whites at 78.6%, Hispanic at 9.5 %, and the rest of the population is made up of Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders. The median age for the residents is 38.5 years, and 24.1% of the population is composed of people under 18. Young adults and middle-aged residents comprise more than half, and the elderly population is roughly 11%.
Facts and Attractions
The term ‘Gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains’ is the standard bearer of Agoura Hills, and the chaparral-meets-woodlands locality is the key to its diverse ornamental plant species. Since the city is close to a national park, it is also a breeding ground for mountain lions, fence lizards, snakes, and steelheads.
The Reyes Adobe Historical Site Museum preserves the Reyes Adobe Home of the previous Rancho Las Virgenes property, which was built in 1850 as the first home in what would become the city of Agoura Hills.
