Carson: LA’s Youngest Bedroom Community
Carson, California became incorporated into the LA metropolitan area in the late 1960s. By far, it is the youngest bedroom community associated with the city. It is only around 18 miles away from LAX, and only a short drive from the downtown LA area. Since that time, the great suburb of Carson has grown by leaps and bounds in population, businesses, and local attractions, as well as renown. Here, we will examine the climate, demographics, as well as local must-see attractions in the Carson area.
How’s the Weather?
Looking for a taste of the Mediterranean climate in the United States? If so, look no further than Carson in the summertime. Carson has a climate that is just a bit less hot than that of the LA basin, but also experiences a bit less rainfall per year. Even so, the whole year round is fairly mild in temperature. Current Population
The population of Carson is quite diverse. The three largest races in the area are Latino, African American, and Caucasian. Most of the households in this area are composed of opposite-sex married couples living together. The majority of the population was between 25 and 44 years old. 37.6 was found to be the average age of most residents of the area. Unsurprisingly, like most of the cities in this same area in California, there are more females living in the city than there are males. Around three-quarters of the residents own their homes, as opposed to just renting.
